Beginning April 12th the effort to re-construct Highway 25 from High Street to Territorial Street will commence. This project will reconstruct both travel lanes along Highway 25, adding safety improvements such as dedicated turn lanes at intersections. The roadway will also feature curb and gutter installation in this area as well as construction of 8' sidewalks on both sides of the highway. In addition, a trail will be constructed through Highland Park from High Street to Hutchinson Road, creating a continuous pedestrian connection from the Luce Line Trail to State Street in the community. Construction efforts will require closure of Highway 25, so please follow the posted regional and local detours. Construction is anticipated to last until late June/early July dependent upon weather. You will still be able to reach your favorite destinations along Highway 25 such as Hooked on Classics, The Rak, Watertown Mini-Storage, Food & Fuel, Subway, The Cookie Store, Watertown Dental, Evangelical Free Church, River Oaks, and Westwood as access will be maintained to businesses and homes. You can find more information about the project and road closures at the MnDOT project site.
