Business & Residential Snow Removal

Watertown Business owners are reminded that all sidewalks are to be kept free of snow and ice at all times; snow and ice removal is the responsibility of the business owner.

Watertown residents also have 12 hours to clear their sidewalks after snow stops falling. Owners and occupants of any property adjacent to a public sidewalk not designated as a priority pedestrian route shall use their due diligence to keep the walk safe for pedestrian use. Owners and occupants are reminded that snow removed from their driveways or sidewalks should not be pushed, shoveled, or blown back into the streets after the plows have gone by. This creates conditions that can cause icy conditions to form on the roadway and lead to difficult driving conditions. If a resident does not remove snow within a reasonable time frame, the City will remove it and the resident will be charged for time and use of City equipment to remove.
