Parks
The City of Watertown is known as the "Heart of the Luce Line Trail", which is a DNR multi-use trail that extends from Winsted, Minnesota to the west and ends in Plymouth, Minnesota. This trail crosses the South Fork Crow River right in the downtown area of Watertown. Take a stop in our downtown and visit our charming shops, get a bit to eat or treat, and enjoy our free downtown wi-fi network.
From the trail you can branch out and visit any number of 17 neighborhood or community parks. Many feature playground structures for the kids, scenic walking and viewing areas along the river, or play a game of disc golf, tennis, soccer, baseball.
Adopt-a-Park
The City of Watertown is seeking volunteers for its Adopt-a-Park Program. The program is open to community groups, civic organizations, churches, families, and individual citizens. The Adopt-a-Park Program is great for volunteers looking for community service projects or for residents interested in beautifying their local park. Volunteers will be expected to periodically visit and observe their park to look for safety concerns, damage, or signs of vandalism, and to perform light cleanup duties if necessary for uncontained trash and debris. For more information about the program please contact City Administrator Dan Tolsma at dtolsma@watertownmn.gov or (952) 955-2681.
