Notice: City Ice Rinks Will Not Open This Year (2023)
Due to various weather-related issues limiting staff, the City is not able to complete the flooding of and open the skating rinks this year. Staff started flooding the rinks in December, but the unseasonably warm weather destroyed the base layer of ice. City staff has also had to prioritize snow removal to keep the roadways safe and could not dedicate additional time to rink flooding.
Staff was hopeful this week would provide temperatures cold enough that would be conducive to flooding. However, that has not been the case, and the City will not be able to make adequately skateable ice before the weather begins to warm again.
Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.
